I met up with one of my June wedding couples for their Balboa Park engagement session, and it couldn’t have been a better fit. As a San Diego wedding photographer, I love engagement sessions because they give us time to connect before the wedding day. We wandered around the Botanical Building and gardens, soaking up golden hour before it shifted into that dreamy blue hour where the sky deepens and the park lights start to glow. Balboa Park always delivers — the mix of history, flowers, and architecture creates endless backdrops — but what really stood out were the candid moments between them. From laughter to an impromptu dance in one of the hidden corners, it was everything that makes engagement photography so special.
